Membership

There are two ways to purchase or renew your TxETA Membership:

  1. Register and pay for TxETA Membership only.
  2. Register and pay for TxETA Membership and TheatreFest, SummerFest or any TxETA event registration together.  Check the website's navigation, search bar, or for an "Events" page. Look for the "Register" link in the event you're interested in. If you need help, contact Mike Doggett at office@tetatx.com for help.

TxETA membership runs from September 1st through August 31st. Membership dues are paid yearly. If you purchase your TxETA Membership before August 31 for TheatreFest your membership will not expire until August 31 of the following year. For example, if you purchased your membership on July 1 of 2024 your membership will not expire until August 31, 2025. If you are not a member before purchasing or renewing your membership to attend SummerFest after September 1 your membership will expire on August 31 on that year and you will need to renew your membership before you can register for TheatreFest, which is the first event of the new TxETA year at the end of September.

All adults AND students attending any aspect of TheatreFest or SummerFest MUST be a current member of TxETA in good standing.

Membership Benefits

TxETA offers its members a myriad of benefits to support theatre education.

  • Broaden your knowledge

Take advantage of opportunities for professional development to enhance skills and knowledge and to stay up to date on changes within the field. These include conferences and workshops, online classes, white papers, newsletters, and other educational resources.

  • Members Hub

The Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA) Members Hub is an exclusive online resource center for TxETA members. It provides a wealth of theatre-related materials to inspire and support educators in the classroom. Members can access a collection of downloadable handouts, curriculum guides, and instructional videos. This treasure trove of practical resources aims to enrich theatre education and empower teachers with engaging tools to bring their lessons to life.

  • Networking Opportunities

Creating professional relationships is important to reaching your professional goals. TxETA provides opportunities to connect with mentors and peers to learn "best practices" or new ideas, hear about key achievers in the field and also meet and brainstorm with others who are also looking to share and learn new information.

Listing membership in a professional organization is an excellent addition to a resume. It’s an indication that a job candidate is serious about their career and interested in developing knowledge and skills.

  •   Publications

The official magazine of Texas Theatre Notes, available online, provides important updates, pertinent information, announcements, and celebrations. The Texas Educational Theatre Association Newsletter is a bi-monthly publication dedicated to providing announcements, updates, and reminders to the membership.

TWO WAYS TO BECOME A MEMBER AND REGISTER FOR EVENTS

Combined Membership &

Event Registration Together (Recommended):

This is the easiest option! You register and pay for both membership and any events you want to attend at the same time. It's one invoice and no extra steps. Visit our Events page, click on the registration button and follow the instructions. For membership and event registration click the link on this page.

Email Mike Doggett for Instructions

Separate Membership &

Event Registration Separately (Not Recommended):

This is more complicated. You'll register and pay for membership first on the membership page, then contact TxETA to get a discount code to waive the second membership fee. Once we have verified that payment has been made for membership though the portal, we will email the appropriate code to use. Then visit our Events page, click on the registration button and follow the instructions. For TheatreFest use the links on this page.
