Job Description: Grace Community School is looking for an outstanding, experienced, secondary theater arts teacher who can join a well-established program that has a legacy of excellence. As a member of the GCS staff, this educator should be eager to integrate biblical truth into the content and methods of teaching and to collaborate with a team and be willing to embrace the core values of the school. This position: Reports to campus principals and the Director of Fine Arts. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in theater education; Master’s preferred. Prefers 3+ years experience teaching theater. Is a part-time or full-time position. Technical theater proficiency and experience required. Works with a team to develop a strong Fine Arts curriculum and program. Requires an excellent communicator with students, families and co-workers. Manages the annual budget. Maintains and stewards facility and equipment well. Some proficiency with technology, including Google and Apple. The job entails: Demonstration of a biblical philosophy of education. Mastery over subject matter and the ability to invite and nurture students in the learning process. Modeling respect, dignity, and love, exhorting others to do the same. Creating and sustaining a well-managed classroom. Developing and executing both long range and daily lesson plans consistent with the Grace curriculum. Appropriately using a variety of instructional and evaluative skills and techniques. Following prescribed accommodations for students enrolled in the school’s Academic Success program.
